[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Jason grew up playing youth hockey in Rochester, NY.

He was drafted in the First Round of the 1992 OHL Draft (12thoverall). Just a few of his OHL highlights included:Assistant Captain of the Niagara Falls Thunder, OHL Player of the week honors with the Sudbury Wolves, being the second leading goal scorer in the 1994 playoffs (4th in points) despite being eliminated in the semis, and setting a Wolves Club record for most game winning goals in the playoffs.

During his Junior Career, Jason was the leading scorer on the USA National Select 16 Team and also the leading scorer and co-captain of the USA National Select 17 Team. He twice represented the USA in the World Junior Championships and spent time with the US Olympic Team as a 17 year old.

He was drafted in the First Round, 4th Overall, in the 1994 NHL Entry draft, by the Edmonton Oilers, at the time the highest drafted player in franchise history and remains the highest drafted player from Rochester, NY in any of the major professional sports. Jason went on to play in the NHL with the Oilers, where he was a teammate of Coach Adam Bennett, and with the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he was their top rookie scorer in 1998 and just missed winning NHL rookie of the month in April.

Jason has been an instructor at top hockey schools since his teens including the Wendel Clark Academy, Sport International and the Stephanie Langdon school, and for the past 10 years has been a head coach of multiple teams at the 2003, 2004 and 2005 age groups, where his teams have won many tournaments and league championships. He ran his own organization for 5 years, the Rochester Red Wings, and Coached Select Spring groups for the well-respected Draftday/Regional Express program.
